For more than two decades, I’ve worked across sales, marketing, and production roles in industries like home improvement, hospitality, market research, insurance, IT, medical, publishing, manufacturing, and commercial real estate. 

That variety of various jobs in so many different types of businesses and industries gave me today something most “marketing gurus” don’t have: pattern recognition.

According to Google's AI Overview:

Pattern recognition is the process of identifying regularities, trends, or structures in data, allowing for classification, prediction, or understanding, using both human cognition (like recognizing faces) and computer algorithms (like AI for image analysis), which involves mapping input data to meaningful categories or objects based on learned features. In Psychology & Cognition

In Computer Science & AI 

• Definition: Using algorithms to automatically discover patterns, classify data, and extract meaningful features from various inputs (images, text, sound). 
• Methods: Includes supervised learning (with labeled data) and unsupervised learning, often employing machine learning and deep learning. 
• Applications: Object detection, optical character recognition, fingerprint analysis, facial recognition, and medical imaging. [1, 4, 6]  

Key Concepts 

• Classification: Assigning data to predefined categories (e.g., spam vs. not spam). 
• Feature Extraction: Identifying key properties that distinguish patterns. 
• Regular Expressions: Specific patterns (like  for digits) used in text processing. [4, 6, 7]  

In essence, it's about finding order in chaos, whether that's in brain processes or complex datasets, to make informed decisions or predictions. [2, 4]

Here’s the bigger “why.”

I’m doing my part to help others help others help others help others (you get the idea)—sharing what I’ve learned so people feel less stuck, less alone, and more empowered to move forward.

We could all use more people willing and able to share their knowledge and experience to guide others who may be facing similar challenges, setbacks, hopelessness, and depression in a world that can feel colder and more chaotic by the day.

I’m here to reverse that trend with my thoughts, my words, and relentless action—powered by a warrior-king spirit and the heart of a teacher.

And so it is.

One of my former sales mentors was Stan Billue, known by many as “Mr. Fantastic.” 

Stan’s story is a reminder that you don’t need a perfect past to build a powerful future—you need a decision, a mentor, and the willingness to do the work.

I had the opportunity to work with Stan as one of his last coaching students before he passed away, and his lessons still shape how I approach sales, business, and life.

Here are a few principles I carry forward in my work:

• Do what most people won’t. Stan’s line that stuck with me (and thousands of others): “If you’re willing to do the things that most sales reps will never do, then soon you’ll be able to enjoy the things that most sales reps will never be able to have or do.”
• Study daily and you become dangerous (in a good way). Commit to learning your craft for one hour a day, and in a year you can be paid for your expertise.
• Review your reps. Record, review, and critique your presentations. Improvement isn’t a mystery—it’s a practice.
• Listen like a pro. The best salespeople aren’t the best talkers—they’re the best listeners.
• Commit to lifelong learning. Stay humble, stay coachable, and keep sharpening your skills.
